Glove box

격리된 몸을 통제할 수 있도록 안쪽에 장갑을 단 컨테이너인 ‘글러브 박스’의 그로테스크를 단초로, 장영해는 ‘나’의 일부이면서 ‘임상’이라는 직능적 차원에 물질적 대상으로 포섭된 몸의 감각을 다룬다. 《Glove box》에서의 ‘몸체(corpus)’란 의학적으로 통제되는 우리의 몸뚱이인 동시에, 그로써 매개되는 경험 속에서 튀겨지거나 쪼그라들었던 순간적 감각들의 시체들이기도 하다.

Starting with the grotesque of ‘glove box’, the container with gloves on the inside to control an isolated body, Chang deals with the sensation of the body that is part of the ‘I’ but is also subsumed as a material object in the ‘clinical’ functional dimension. In 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝘅, the ‘corpus’ is both our medically controlled bodies and the corpses of momentary sensations that have been fried or shriveled in the mediated experience.
